Sunsetting of 2G and 3G Technologies and Evolution of Our General Terms and Conditions

Sunsetting of 2G and 3G Technologies on the Networks of Bouygues Telecom, Orange, and SFR

As previously communicated in March 2023, French operators have announced the gradual sunsetting of 2G and 3G networks.

Sunsetting dates for 2G and 3G technologies communicated by French operators:

  • Bouygues Telecom: by the end of the year 2026 for 2G and by the end of the year 2029 for 3G

  • Orange: by the end of the year 2025 for 2G and by the end of the year 2028 for 3G

  • SFR: by the end of the year 2026 for 2G and by the end of the year 2028 for 3G

Following the discontinuation of these 2G and 3G technologies, connected devices not compatible with more recent cellular technologies will no longer be able to connect to the mobile network of the aforementioned operators.

These technological evolutions being independent of Matooma, the company cannot be held responsible in any case for the service interruption linked to the closure of these technologies.

This notification aims to allow you to anticipate and prepare for the technological transition of your equipment within your entity before the aforementioned technical shutdown dates. We invite you to approach the manufacturer of your equipment now to verify their compatibility with 4G and/or 5G technologies, the protocols used, to test, and to validate the operation of your equipment with SIM cards provided by Matooma on these technologies.

We are fully aware that this announcement may have a significant impact on your connected device fleet and your activity. Rest assured that Matooma is here to support you through this transition by guiding you towards communication technologies suited to your projects.

Evolution of Our General Terms and Conditions of Service

We are anticipating future developments by updating our General Terms and Conditions of Service. This proactive approach aims to provide you with a more suitable and transparent contractual framework that matches the services you receive from Matooma.

This update aims to modify Article 19.2 of our current General Terms and Conditions (“No one may modify, amend, or waive any of the provisions of the Contract, in the absence of a written document signed by the Parties.") and replaces all previous General Terms and Conditions for Service Provision.

Article 19.2 is thus modified: “Matooma reserves the right to modify the stipulations of these general terms and conditions provided (i) the Client has been informed by email and (ii) the Client has not objected within thirty (30) days from this notification. By continuing to use our services after this period, the Client consents to the updated terms. Otherwise, the Client has the right to terminate their contract before the effective date and without any termination fees.”

These changes will take effect on 3rd June 2024. No action is required on your part. By continuing to use our services after this date, you consent to the updated terms.
